How can we help?

Do you ovulate with Zelleta?

The progesterone only pill Zelleta is made from the hormone desogestrel 75mcg.

It works by stopping ovulation for most people, thickening the mucus in the cervix (creating a ‘mucus plug’) which prevents sperm entering the uterus, and thins the lining of the uterus which would stop a fertilised egg from attaching.

For a small number of people with uteruses (about 4 in 10) they may still ovulate on the progesterone only pill. They will still be protected from pregnancy.
